本日ご紹介するのは先日入荷したばかりのこちら。

2014 Gibson Custom Shop Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul Signed Aged (Reverse Burst)です。

 

実を言いとぼくはDickey Betts SGを所有しているくらい心の中はいつもサザンロックボーイなのです。

国内入荷数の少なさから現物にお目に掛かれるとは思っていなかったのですが….奇跡が起きました。

 

まずこのケースとバックのサイン。

ボディバックに入れられたディッキー・べッツ、チャーリー・ダニエルズ、ゲイリー・ロッシントン、ジミー・ホール、ロニー・プローラーのサイン、ケースに貼られた数々のステージパス….これだけでも所有する価値のあるギターではないでしょうか。

 

サザンロックのギタリストがこぞって使用した楽器といえばレスポール。

中でも’59年製のバーストはサザンロックの歴史と平行して名機として今でも語り継がれるものがいくつかあります。

 

だからこそ、このサザンロックトリビュートレスポールは59年スペックをベースに作られており、まさにあの時代のあの場所で生まれた音楽に対するトリビュートとして相応しい一本です。

 

ケースを開けた瞬間に70年代のアメリカ南部の空気に触れられるような逸品。

My pick for today is one that just came in through our door:

2014 Gibson Custom Shop Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul Signed Aged (Reverse Burst).

 

Though I have written this in my past posts, I’m going to say loud and clear yet again that I’m a big jam band fan.

My personal main axe is a Dickey Betts SG that Gibson did a short run of back in 2012.

That said, it’s a big deal for me to see this guitar come in.

 

Only 50 of this Aged Signed model was made, and very very little (in fact, we have heard that only one) came into Japan.

If this is true, this one we have right now maybe the ONLY one in Japan. Pretty darn cool.

 

Take a look at the case and all the signatures on the back of the guitar.

 

All the stage passes on the brown case really add to the mojo of the whole thing.

On top of that, signatures from Dickey Betts, Charlie Daniels, Gary Rossington, Jimmy Hall and vintage guitar expert Ronny Proller all make the guitar a piece of history.

 

Les Pauls were the instrument of choice for many Sounthern Rock guitarists, and it can be said that they play a huge part in the heritage.

This explains why this Southern Rock Tribute Les Paul is based on ’59 specs.

 

The moment you open up the case, you feel like slipping into Macon, Georgia in 1970.

It’s that great, and I’m blown away.
