本日ご紹介するのは
2014 Epiphone E-360TD 66 Riviera Japan Limited (Iced Tea Sunburst)

 

セミアコらしいハコ鳴り感がありつつも、タイトなローとより明るいトーンが出てくれるミニハムの組み合わせをぼくが好まない訳がない！

 

ビンテージのリヴィエラはフリークエンセーター・テールピース（通称ブランコ・テール）が装着されてますが、こちらはストップテール仕様。

ストップテールはブランコに比べ、各弦のテンションのバランスが良く、より効率良くボディーに振動を伝えてくれるので、サステインと生鳴りもいいです。

 

ただ、だからといってストップテールピースの方がいいとはぼくは言いません。これはもう趣味の問題です。

 

もう一つ特筆すべきスペックはナイロン製のサドルです。

このサドルとストップテールの組み合わせが絶妙に扱いやすい音になってると感じました。

 

もしかしたらES-335よりも好きかも…!

Here’s another beauty I want to show you guys today.

A Riviera! (Hooray!)

 

I’m a big fan of mini-humbuckers, and mount them on a semi-hollow body, and you get a little crispness with the midrange character of a semi-acoustic.

 

Vintage Rivieras have a Frequensator Tailpiece, but this one has a Stop Tailpiece.

The Stop Tailpiece gives the strings a more balanced tension and more sustain and body resonance than a Frequensator.

I’m not going to say which is better. I personally love the feel and tone of Frequensators, and the two tailpieces have a completely different character.

 

Another notable spec is the nylon saddles, and I find the combination of this with the tailpiece gives this instrument a nice vintage-y vibe.

 

I might even like this one more than ES-335s!
