2006 Gibson Custom Shop Historic 1956 Les Paul Reissue (Ebony Black)

 

P-90搭載の’56リイシューです、しかもエボニーブラック!!!

Neil Young所有のOld Blackを彷彿とさせるルックスですね。

かくいうスタッフYはOld Blackをメインギターにしているのでこのギターが入荷した瞬間からブログの題材に….と思っていたところでありました。

 

音はズ・バ・リ!!!

Gibsonらしいミッドの感じとシングルコイルのツヤ感が最高にいいです。

 

P-90搭載のギターにはリアがうるさい割にパワー感がない個体が多いのですがこの個体はかなりバランスがいいです。

アンプのトレブルをあげても耳に刺さる音になりづらく、ローをあげても巻き弦感のある音です。

 

やはりクリーン〜クランチあたりで弾くのが美味しい場所だと思います、アンプ直でも一日中遊べそうです。

 

4.45kgという若干重めのウエイトながら、そこから得られるパワー感とサスティーンが素晴らしいです。

個人的にはすごい好みの個体です….

2006 Gibson Custom Shop Historic 1956 Les Paul Reissue (Ebony Black)

 

Here’s a P-90 loaded ’56 Reissue in Ebony Black.

This one reminds me of Neil Young’s Old Black.

Because I happen to use an Old Black replica as my main axe, I knew I had to write about this one for this blog.

 

The tone has the Gibson single-coil goodness with a tasty midrange and nice sparkly harmonics.

 

Some P-90 loaded guitars tend to have a load but not exactly pushy and powerful bridge pickup, but this one is well balanced.

Add some treble or bass on the amp and it still has a musical tone.

 

The sweet spot would be from clean to moderate break up on the amp, pedals just become a bother.

Straight through the amp feels pretty darn good.

 

Weighing at 9.81lbs, it’s a pretty big boy, but this gives it a lot of power and sustain.
