本日ご紹介するのは
2008 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt ’63 Stratocaster Relic by John Cruz (Burgundy Mist)です。

 

カッコいいですよね？

 

大人気マスタービルダー、ジョン・クルーズ氏のマジックハンドによって作られたこちらの一本はクルーズ節を十分に堪能できます。

 

太く粘りのある低中域、ピッキングのニュアンスに対してしっかり反応して付いてきてくれるレスポンスの良さ、そしてポジション関係なく音のまとまりが良く、ハイもローも出過ぎない扱いやすさです。

 

また、サステインは倍音豊かで、ハズレのシングルコイルのような線の細さはもちろんありません。ある意味PAFライクといってもいいかもしれません。この辺りはさすがの一言ですね。

Nice looking Strat right?

 

Built by Fender Masterbuilder John Cruz, this Burgundy Strat is a good example of what a John Cruz-made Strat sounds like.

 

Good fat low-midrange with a good punch, the notes pop out and responds well to the player’s picking nuance, and the tone, regardless of the pickup position, is focused without any excessive low-end or overly bright treble.

 

It’s got a good sustain with a nice harmonic detail, and does not feel flimsy like some single-coils, which can be said for a lot of John Cruz’s guitars.

There’s something about his guitars, and who knows what that is. Whatever it is, it’s his thing, and it’s great.
