本日ご紹介するのは
2010 D’Pergo Custom Guitars Aged Vintage Classic (Sunburst)です。

 

これまたなかなかお目にかかれない一本です。

D’PergoはヴィンテージFender系の良さを活かしながらも、現代の音楽に求められる高い演奏性を実現することに重きを置いているメーカーという印象があります。

 

実際に今日ご紹介するものも指板はフェンダーよりも更にフラットな10″ラディアスだったり、高音弦側をやや薄くしてハイポジションでの弾きやすさを追求した構造のネックヒールを採用していて、概ねモダンな楽器です。

 

いわゆる古い50年代のストラトのイメージとは少々違うものの、クリーントーンはキラッとした高音域の倍音と線の太さがあり、ドライヴさせればドライかつゴリっとしたパワーのある音で、やはりモダンな印象。そしていい音！

 

ギターのルックス自体は古き良き趣がありつつも、ヘッドストックの形状自体は角が滑らかに丸められていたり高級感を感じます。

しっかりとしたこだわりを持って製作されていることがよく分かる楽器です。

My pick for today is…

2010 D’Pergo Custom Guitars Aged Vintage Classic (Sunburst).

 

Here’s a rare one we don’t get to see very often.

 

The folks over at D’Pergo sure know what they are doing, and perhaps it is because of their commitment and professionalism to build quality guitars that there aren’t very many made.

 

Like other boutique builders, D’Pergo puts in a lot of effort in maintaining the vintage vibe of Fender-style guitars while improving the playability to modern players’ demands.

 

This guitar sports a 10″ radius fretboard and the neck heel is thinner on the treble side for easier playing on the high register.

 

All in all, in my humble opinion, this is a modern guitar.

 

It’s got a good fatness and boldness to the tone, which is not exactly what you might expect from a good old 50’s Strats.

Clean tone has a good amount of body and sparkle, and has a nice grit when you kick in a little dirt, so again, it’s a modern sounding axe. And it’s great!

 

The guitar does have a classic look, and the headstock has an elegant shape with the rolled off edges.

 

You can just tell there has been a lot of work put into building one of these.
