本日ご紹介するのは
2013 RS Guitarworks Tee Byrd 60s Medium (Blonde)

 

本日が本年の営業最終日につき、今年最後の投稿となります。

 

RS Guitarworksからまたしても面白い一本があるので選んでみました。

 

まあ、ほぼほぼテレキャスターだと言ってしまって良いと思います。

ボディーシェイプは明らかにファイヤーバードですが、ボルトオンネックとストリングスルーという構造から、弾いた感触はテレです。

 

ただ、完全にテレかと言われればそうではないのが面白いところ。

フロントのミニハムバッカーが普通のテレよりも音に太さを与え、また軽量のボディーは生鳴りの音量がかなり大きく、ファイヤーバードらしい金属的な細かい粒立ちの倍音が出ます。

 

リアポジションは中域に少し膨らみがあるものの、テレらしい乾いたトーンを持っています。

 

ミドルは個人的にあまり使える感じではなかったものの、このキャラクターを好むプレイヤーも中にはいるだろうなという印象でした。結局使い方は弾き手次第ですからね。

2013 RS Guitarworks Tee Byrd 60s Medium (Blonde)

 

Last post of the year.

Here’s yet another unique creation from the folks at RS Guitarworks.

 

I’d have to say this thing is pretty much a Tele.

The body shape is obviously a Firebird, but the bolt-on neck and string-thru structure basically gives it a Tele-like feel.

 

The fun part is that it isn’t quite a Tele.

The mini-humbucker on the neck position gives the tone more grit than a Tele, and the lightweight body has a pretty loud resonance, giving the tone that metallic, shimmering overtone found in a Firebird.

 

Switch to the rear position and you have a Tele-twang with a good mid-range.

 

I didn’t find the middle position very usable, but some people might like it. Afterall, it all depends on the player.
