本日ご紹介するのは

2015 Fender Custom Shop ’60 Custom Telecaster Relic (Chocolate Sunburst)です。

 

本日の”Tele-Tuesday”にふさわしい一本を選んでみました。

 

ぼくは元々カスタム・テレのルックスが大好きなのですが、今回は通常の3トーン・サンバーストではなく少々明るい色合いの”チョコレート・サンバースト”。

50年ほど使い込まれてボディ外周の色味がフェイドしていったニュアンスを再現したカラーリングで何ともおいしい雰囲気を持っています。

 

そんなヴィンテージライクな顔を持ちながら、音はジャンルを選ばずオールラウンドに使えそうなトーンです。

 

ホセフィーナ女史のサインが入った”ツイステッド・テレ”シングルコイルは程よく煌びやか。

出力はさほど強くなく太いという印象はあまりないものの、その分クリーンのキラキラ感はもちろん、アンプを少しドライブさせても美しいサチュレーションと高音域の倍音の広がりが楽しめます。

低音域はちゃんとまとまってくれるし、両ピックアップの音量バランスもテレにしてはいいのでストレスなくフロントとリアを行き来できます。

 

指板は9.5″ラディアス、フレットはナロージャンボというモダンスペックが採用されているので演奏性も高く、ライヴやレコーディングにいつでもサッと持って行きたい、もしくはありとあらゆるジャンルの音楽を演奏したいという方には持ってこいです。

2015 Fender Custom Shop ’60 Custom Telecaster Relic (Chocolate Sunburst).

 

I had to pick a Tele because today is a Tele-Tuesday.

 

Well how about this Custom Tele?

I’ve always loved the look of these, but this one isn’t in a regular 3-tone sunburst.

 

It’s got a lighter shade, and they call it “Chocolate Sunburst”.

This is how an old sunburst Tele might look after 50 years with the dark outer perimeter fading to brown.

Yummy right?

 

This one is a good all-round utility player.

 

The Josefina-signed Twisted Tele pickups sound nice with a crispy treble that will cut through the mix.

Not a lot of power or fatness, but when you kick in a little overdrive or push the amp to moderate break-up, there is a lot of saturation and shimmer in the higher frequencies.

The low end never gets out of hand and the two pickups are pretty balanced for a Tele so there will be no problem going back and forth between each pickups.

 

The 9.5″ radius and narrow-jumbo frets offer great playability, so if you’re looking for a good-looking Tele to take with you anywhere from gigs to recording sessions, pop to rock to country, this guy will get you covered.
