本日ご紹介するのは入荷したてのこの一本。

2017 Gibson Custom Shop True Historic 1959 Les Paul Murphy Aged (Slow Iced Tea Fade)です。

 

2017年製のトゥルーヒストリックR9、もちろん中古なので新品よりもお買い得。

新品同様だけど、でも中古。もちろん状態に問題はありません。

 

さて、まず写真を見て思った方も多いと思いますが、このルックス。

これはカッコいいですね…

 

ウェイトバランスもよく、たまにレスポールでありがちな重心がやけにボディ側に片寄ってるなんてこともありません。

3.81kgとレスポールにしては軽量で、出音にもその空気感は存分に出ております。

 

音自体は甘さと温かさがあり、バイト感はさほどありません。

軽めのタッチで弾いてあげる方がこの楽器の味がよりよく出てくれる印象でした。

力を抜いて、音が部屋中に響いていくのを楽しむ。

おいしいコーヒーを淹れたときの、あの部屋中に香りが広がっていくあの感覚ですかね。

 

このギターを弾いていて、一人のギタリストの名前が頭をよぎりました。

Joey Landreth。ご存知でしょうか？

彼ならこのギターですごくいい音を鳴らすだろうなと。

Hello friends!

My pick for today is a beauty that just came in through our door:
2017 Gibson Custom Shop True Historic 1959 Les Paul Murphy Aged (Slow Iced Tea Fade).

 

A 2017 True Historic R9 is already in stock, and the price is far more reasonable than a new one.

This thing is pretty much brand-new with no wear at all, but still, it’s used.

No issues, no nothing.

 

Now look at this top.

The Slow Iced Tea Fade finish is just gorgeous, and the maple top hits it out of the ballpark.

At first glance, all I could say was “wow”.

 

The weight balance is nice, and you don’t get the body-heavy uneasiness like some Les Pauls tend to have.

The guitar weighs 8.39lbs which is falls on the lighter side for a Les Paul, and there’s that nice airiness in the tone.

 

The tone is warm and sweet and doesn’t have a lot of bite.

The juice comes out most when you’re not playing too hard on it.

Relax, and let the notes fill the room like how the smell of a good cup of coffee would.

 

The guy that comes to my mind who might sound extremely well on this axe is Joey Landreth.

If you’ve never heard his name, now is your chance. I think you’ll know what I mean.
